Hello everyone,
My name is Coty Evans. I am a Certified Life Coach by profession.
As a coach, I am a facilitator who works with individuals and couples to explore their needs, motivations, desires, skills, and thought processes to assist them in making real, lasting change.
I graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Chemistry from Missouri State University and spent several years directing biomedical research. I worked to design and develop an implantable glucose sensor and have co-authored many articles that can be found in publications such as “Diabetes Technology and Therapeutics” and “Analytical Chemistry”. Wanting to turn my focus from the body to the soul though, I received my coaching certification from The Coach Training Alliance.
So, how did all this transpire?
Well, when I was in my mid 20’s I met a young lady who I later married and spent 9 years with. She was indeed a very important part of my life, but at that time I didn’t quite know how to find the balance between my relationship, work, and my education. This imbalance caused many problems in that relationship and ultimately it’s demise. After going through divorce and losing someone very dear to me, I realized it was time to do some serious introspection to figure out where all I went wrong. I obviously didn’t hear her call for her needs and I realized I had been too self-involved.
Upon this revelation, I started reading every book on relationships I could get my hands on. Next, I began seeing a Life Coach in order to help me do some preventative maintenance on the relationship/marriage that I am currently in. This coach inspired me to want to help others. So, I took a certification course to become a Life Coach and have been working with people to improve their lives and relationships ever since.
It’s awesome to be able to work in the capacity to be able to help people make desired and lasting change so that they can become the person they want to be.
Incidentally, if you’re wondering why many/most of my blogs are about divorce, it’s because I’m a divorce facilitator, as well as a Marital and Pre-Marital facilitator. It’s not just me being obsessed with divorce. LOL
